Enjoy the peace and quiet of the mountains and bring people to you! This beautiful mountain property has many spots for rental campsites to bring in tourists to the farm and get them inspired about sustainable small scale agriculture.

Land Description

18.6 acres of mountain property with a beautiful creek and views. This property is steep in places and has some level ground at the top. There are about 5 acres hard fenced and i have used single strand electric all over for goats and pigs. There is a chicken coop and rabbit shed, a nice shop with concrete floor and shed roofs on 2 sides for milking and hay storage. There are a few mature blueberry bushes in the yard and room for more. The house is currently set up as one bedroom, 3 bath but could easily be reconfigured. It has wood and propane heat. It also has a 24'x32' concrete basement that is poured 10" thick, floors, walls, and ceiling. this makes the basement very well insulated and easy to maintain a desired temp. This could be another bedroom, a creamery, mushroom grow, or an easy place to maintain temp on fish tanks for an aquaponics setup.

Goals/Vision for Farm

As this property is fairly remote i believe it would be ideal to bring customers to you. The area is a destination for fishing, whitewater, mtn biking, hiking and more. As a way to add income and bring in customers i would like to build a few campsites w bell tents to rent out. My dream is for people to come to the property, witness the possibilities of small scale sustainable agriculture, enjoy quality food, and connect with nature. I did pigs and goats but have moved away from pigs as they are hard on the land and require more input. I would like to see more grass established on the ridge top through timber harvesting for projects. I would love to see a mushroom or aquaponics operation. A dairy goat operation might be a nice fit as well. My main concern is that the farm is maintained in a sustainable and mindful manner.

Housing provided

The house is one bedroom upstairs with a large walk in closet, bathroom and shower, and an enclosed porch that could be an office, reading spot, or young childs room. The main floor is a connected kitchen/living room with bathroom and large tub. A mud room with pool table and fireplace has been added to the east side of the 24'x32' footprint of the house. The basement has a bathroom and laundry but the laundry could be moved to the mudroom if using the basement for farming or food prep.

Qualifications Required

Some experience would be ideal. A desire to show others the possibilities of a more sustainable future is a must.
