Description

Description

We are an elderly couple needing help on our Farrow to Finish Hog Farm, especially since Joanne suffered a very serious leg injury on her off-the-farm factory job and is no longer able to help on the farm.

Our 80-acre farm is located in beautiful Southwest Iowa. Our operation consists of grass-fed, full-blooded Berkshire Hogs from farrow to finish the natural way as God intended. We currently run our hogs in paddocks but are needing to expand into more paddocks and repair/restructure existing ones.

We are also looking to add sheep and chickens in the future.

We have new butchering equipment but have never used any of it to date.

Location Specifics

We are 14 miles SW of Bedford, 2 miles SE of Siam, 9 miles SE of New Market, 16 miles SE of Clarinda Iowa and 22 miles North of Maryville Missouri which is a larger town due to it college and Agricultural School.

We are 1/2 mile off of a paved road on a quiet gravel in the far SW corner of Taylor County

Position Description

Most work will entail working with Russ on fencing and livestock management in our farrow to finish operation. Construction of buildings will also be a part of the position requirements.
Responsibilities will increase as experience and dependability is obtained.

Livestock duties might include but are not limited to feeding, farrowing, monitoring overall health of
animals and moving livestock

All suggestions and inputs will be expected, welcomed and considered to arrive at the best and most efficient method to
achieve a common goal of growing the operation to obtain more profitability for all.

It will be a plus if the applicant is computer literate and can help us to establish online marketing and a YouTube channel,
but it is NOT a requirement.
