Description

Description

Pasturebird specializes in scaling regenerative agriculture through pastured poultry and rotational grazing techniques. We are currently building a research farm to evaluate new pasture infrastructure, and land management techniques. The operation will monitor soil health, forage quality, animal performance, and labor requirements. The positions will focus on farm construction, operation, and administration.

Position Description

The farm is hiring multiple positions dependent on qualifications and experience. Upon completion, the farming operation is expected to produce 25,000 broilers/wk and maintain a herd of rotationally grazed cattle on several hundred acres. All associates must share our commitment to the highest standards in animal welfare and land stewardship.

Position responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, construction (building, electrical, plumbing, fencing, etc.), animal husbandry (monitoring animal health, optimizing performance, planning movements, etc.), record keeping (soil/forage testing, animal movements, labor use, equipment maintenance, etc.), and farm labor management.

Expectations

To be successful, the applicant needs to be honest, hardworking and passionate about regenerative agriculture. All team members will be expected to work outside and in inclement weather. The work can be physically demanding and dynamic in responsibilities. Being a research farm, new projects, infrastructure, and methods will be constantly developed and evaluated.

Additionally, the farm will function as a teaching and outreach facility. Farms tours and training will be routinely conducted on location requiring the operation be maintained in an organized, clean, and professional manner.
