Farm manager / groundskeeper wanted for contract work to start, possibly transitioning to full time employment, in a not-for-profit dedicated to the Humanities, Philosophy, and Literature.

The work will consist on:

- Planning for, preparing, and leading a group of amateurs doing manual labor (mostly focused on food production, maintenance, and landscaping)

- Leading and expanding garden beds and food production operations

- General repairs and maintenance of a historic barn and its outbuildings

- Small building and construction projects

- Using hand tools to complete repairs and installations

- Garden and landscape maintenance, planting, mowing

- Farm equipment maintenance

- Management and supervision of other contractors as needed

Requirements:

- Proven experience as a farm manager, groundskeeper or a similar role

- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools

- Knowledge of construction techniques and materials

- Farming and gardening knowledge

Pay negotiable, commensurate with experience. Flexible schedule.

Full time employment a possibility after a trial period.

Property is within the town of Catskill, 12414.

Located just outside the town of Catskill

20 Acres, creekside. Mostly unfarmed. We have some garden beds, and are looking to expand food production operations and get some animals.

The farm will be part of a Center of education for adults focused on the humanities. Looking for someone to help the owners develop the farm, expand food operations and get involved with the nonprofit mission.

Housing could be provided on site but it is not currently built.

Experience in managing a small farm.
